What is Card Send and how does it work?
  • What is Card Send

    Card Send is a new feature that lets you transfer funds from your Absa Debit or Credit Card to other Visa cards, both locally and internationally. It’s not only quick and secure but simple to do on the Absa Mobile Banking App.

  • How to access and use Card Send

    1. Login to your Absa banking app.
    2. On the transact Menu, select Card Send to initiate the transaction. If you are a first-time user, you will see a screen with more information on this product. Click on send money now to initiate the payment process
    3. On the beneficiary screen, select if you want to pay a new recipient or one of your existing beneficiaries
    4. Input the details of the beneficiary and validate the credit card or the alias of the recipient
    5. Next, input the transaction details and continue with the payment process
    6. On the payment dropdown, choose the card by which you want to complete the payments
    7. Confirm the transaction details and click send now
    8. You will be required to input the OTP received on your registered mobile number to complete the transaction
    9. You can see the transaction status and can also share the receipt of the successful transaction
  • How to create an alias for Card Send

    1. Login to your Absa banking app
    2. On the Transact Menu, select Card Send to register your alias to send and receive payments
    3. If you are a first-time user, you will see a screen with more information on this product. Click on Register to receive and send money to start the registration process
    4. On the Alias detail screen, link your alias to the card on which you want to receive or send the payments
    5. Input the OTP received on your registered mobile number to complete the registration process
    6. User alias is registered, and you can start receiving and sending payments against your alias
  • How to manage an alias

    To manage your alias, here’s what you need to do:

     

    1.     You can add a new alias, and can also update or delete your alias

    2.     You can change linkage of your alias to a new card

    3.     Simply login to your Absa mobile banking app and select the new card from the payments option dropdown

    4.     Input the OTP received on your registered mobile number to complete the update process

    5.     You will be navigated to the alias update success screen

     

    To de-register your alias:

     

    1.     Click on the bin button to deregister your alias

    2.     You will be navigated to the success screen for deregistration of your alias
